The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending March 3, reported receipts of 62,386 head compared to 57,408 head a week ago and 72,435 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 20,856 head,1,295 to 1,700 lbs., 181.00 to 185.00 (183.42); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,960 head, 1,150 to 1,566 lbs., 181.00 to 183.00 (182.77); 35 to 65% Choice, 780 head, 1,160 to 1,410 lbs., 182.00 to 183.00 (182.81). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 108 head,1,500 lbs., 186.00.
