High Plains cattle sales report
The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending May 17, reported receipts of 75,957 head compared to 92,514 head a week ago and 69,788 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 25,188 head, 1,350 to 1,750 lbs., 257.00 to 266.00 (263.42); 65 to 80% Choice, 4,632 head, 1,375 to 1,750 lbs., 260.00 to 265.00 (260.62); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,433 head, 1,400 to 1,575 lbs., 260.00. Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 1,882 head, 1,450 to 1,650 lbs., 260.00 to 268.00 (263.12). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 11,387 head, 822 to 1,147 lbs., 400.00 to 415.00 (410.81). 65 to 80% Choice, 748 head, 937 to 1,048 lbs. 415.00; Dressed FOB delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 339 head, 960 to 1,024 lbs., 400.00 to 415.00 (414.12).
