The Great American State Fair will take place on the National Mall in Washington, DC, between 14th Street and 4th Street. The Great American State Fair will be free and open to the public. Advance guest pre-registration will be encouraged; walk-ups are welcome.

Salute to America

Audiences will get to experience the people, principles and defining moments that took the United States from 13 original colonies to being one of the most prosperous countries in history during a July 4 event.

Exploration of the revolution, preservation of the Union, service members’ courage, the Civil Rights movement, as well as faith, science and cultural achievements that have shaped the future.

According to organizers, the program will honor not only the leaders whose names fill history books, but also the service members, athletes, leaders, entrepreneurs, pastors, teachers, visionaries, and trailblazers whose love of country helped define our nation’s character and inspired generations. It will celebrate America’s 250 years of history and chart the course for the next 250.

“America’s story is one of ordinary people accomplishing extraordinary things,” Freedom 250 CEO Keith Krach said in a news release. “This Independence Day, we will celebrate the men and women who built this nation, defended its freedoms, enriched it, and passed its blessings on to future generations.”

Members of the premier military bands, orchestras, choruses, and ceremonial units will perform together in what could possibly be the largest joint military music and ceremonial ensemble ever assembled, according to organizers.

Set against the backdrop of the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument, the performance will showcase the talent, professionalism, and enduring spirit of the men and women who serve our nation while honoring the generations of service members whose sacrifice helped preserve American freedom for 250 years.

A fireworks display will close out the evening activities. Organizers say the display is specially designed for America’s 250th birthday and will serve as the grand finale to a day of honor.
