High Plains cattle sales report

The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending July 6, reported receipts of 52,114 head compared to 46,768 head a week ago and 42,802 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 13,063 head, 1,300 to 1,700 lbs., 252.00 to 256.00 (255.22); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,382 head, 1,375 to 1,575 lbs., 252.00 to 255.00 (254.73); 35 to 65% Choice, 70 head, 1,450 to 1,450 lbs., 255.00. Live delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 1,686 head, 1,450 to 1,600 lbs., 255.00 to 258.50 (257.04). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 10,550 head, 857 to 1,118 lbs., 398.00 to 403.50 (402.53); 65 to 80% Choice, 260 head, 915 to 984 lbs., 400.00. Dressed FOB, over 80% Choice, 348 head, 914 to 1,068 lbs., 400.00 to 403.00 (402.05).
